Top done

I got the top done for the baby quilt I'm making. I was going to make it for charity, and realized I needed a baby quilt for my sis in law come September. Hopefully she has a girl, because this looks more girly to me. If she is expecting a boy I'll have to change plans and donate this one LOL. I love the way it came out. The blue flowers are darling!

The nagging mind...

So a lot has been up and on my mind lately...

First off, before I forget 2 mention, I have an interview this a.m. for a weekend job ONLY for another group home situation, but this is more of a company, that owns several of them, and I believe that are for disabled children. The pay is tons better too. Wish me luck. I'll post an update on if I got the job. I want to find something weekends, because once school starts I will be subbing for 2 different districts. I figure I might not get called in daily to work, so if I can get a small 'solid' job that'd be a good thing for me. Who knows. I'm probably a work-a-holic that won't admit it LOL. We need the money, so all is good...

Secondly, I know in my 'last' blog before it pooped out, I had posted a nice picture that a gal from the old group home had made for me, of a purple dragon. She is a fine artist, I must say. Anywho, she is turning 18 in October and literally has NO one and NO where to go. I know they say she can 'stay in the system' until 22, but at the moment, the caseworker told me she is refusing help. I know she needs help. So I decided to contact her caseworker to see if I could get in touch and keep in touch with the girl, as a mentor/friend type. The CPS caseworker is running my background check, etc., and will let me know in 2 wks. She said she can get me 'passes' to take the girl out. I miss the girl dearly. I think it's my calling, at least for now.

I've been reading my Bible more often, I'm not really sure why. Last night I read most of John and some of the Psalms. Nice read. I love the history of it all, not just the feeling I get from reading. My sister has been going through some tough times lately, so I was telling her more about the Bible and such. We're not big Bible people, but very spiritual...Always have been. We weren't raised on it, so it's hard as an adult to pick it up and know what we're looking at, ya know?

Anywho, I am going to go to my interview today, do some quilting, as I've cut some basic squares for a baby quilt (probably another donation for charity) and RELAX...what a concept! lol.

Hope everyone has a great Friday! What are YOUR plans for today? Any big weekend outings? plans?

I'm done

Well they brought me to tears yesterday...*An Update on the Hell job lol*
So I decided yesterday to bring my son who is 15 with me for ammunition to help out with crazy kids that have NO discipline. Everything seemed to be going OK until about 3 pm. I was quietly watching Noggin with the toddler twins (who are almost 2) and all of a sudden *without me seeing it coming* one of them purposely threw a really heavy flashlight toy at my face. It hurt bad, so I said "Ow!" really loud, to let the kid know that it hurt, and get his attention. I said in a loud and stern voice "No throwing, that hurts people." Of course he started crying, playing victim. His 3 y.o. brother immediately came off the coffee table (he was standing on) to kick at me to let me know he was mad for making his little brother cry. The 5 y.o. bratty girl quickly ran to the phone to speed dial her mom to tell on me. She says "Niki is making my little brother cry hard because she keeps yelling at him". *No mention that this kid just threw a flashlight at my face hard :(
So do you think the mother even wanted to talk to me on the phone? No. She apparently told the girl to go stay in her room until she got home. The girl thought I didn't notice her making this nasty phone call. About 5 minutes after she was in her room she came out to be nice to me. Grrrrr.
So I was really upset then. Why would a parent NOT want to discuss it with ME, the adult? To find out what happened that led to the disciplining...
So I decided to call the father at work on his cell phone. Tried to start explaining what happened. He cut me off, like he didn't care. I said, just bring me my cash for the 3 days and we'll call it good. I SHOULD have gone on to say what bratty kids he had and how the no discpline thing was only hurting the children, but I kept my mouth shut. Do you think the parents raced home to let me go? NO! They didn't come home til almost 2 hours later! Grrrr. I was really fuming then. When he came in the house he said that I shouldn't have had to have a 5 year old calling about a situation. WHAT???? He proceeded to write me a check and I left. No words. Nothing. JERK! Ok, it's over and my vent is done. With a hurt face I will walk away, wash my hands of it, and not turn back. It's a new day. **Sigh** :(

4 more days

I cannot WAIT until Aug 11. That is when school starts back up and I have a job again! lol. So in the meantime, I'm taking small odd jobs here and there. I took a babysitter job this week. Good pay but OMGosh! Watching 4 kids, ages 5, 3 and 2. There are 4 kids total, the 2 y.o.'s are twin boys! Can I just SCREAM at these kids LOL? I can tell there is VERY little discipline in the home. The 5 y.o. girl will smirk at me real nasty like and slam doors on me. ugh! The two little ones even have attitudes. God give me strength to survive this week! I have 4 more days of HE** LOL. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
The mother is there calling me every hour to make sure I'm 'on her schedule'. Give me a break! I'm a fill in! and she says absolutely NO t.v. WHAT!? Entertain 4 children under the age of 6 with NO tv all day!? That's where I went wrong LOL. It's the only thing that kept me sane most of the day. Bad bad babysitter. LOL. It was seriously hard to keep up with them all. I have 4 kids of my own, but they are all spread out in ages. I cannot imagine dealing with that on a daily basis. Poor lady. lol. Ok, done with my tired vent. lol

Hope everyone is having a peaceful week.
